Kalvin Phillips was lined up for a surprise transfer to Premier League rivals Man City after a £45m flop move to the champions

LIVERPOOL are reportedly considering a surprise move for Manchester City outsider Kalvin Phillips after missing other goals.
Jurgen Klopp is keen to add depth to his midfield and it looks like he’s turning his attention to Phillips in response.
Accordingly TalkSPORTThe Reds have the former Leeds United midfielder on their radar.
It’s been a difficult period for Liverpool so far as they missed two of their key goals.
Both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia turned down the Merseyside club in favor of a move to Chelsea.
And Klopp looks weak in midfield following the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to the Saudi Pro League.
Phillips could bring defensive stability to a Liverpool side who have conceded seven goals in their last four Premier League games.
The England international joined the Etihad Stadium from Elland Road last season but has struggled with playing time under Pep Guardiola.
He only made two Premier League starts for the treble winners last season despite being signed for a whopping £50million.
Klopp has already added three new faces to his midfield this summer with new signings Endo Wataru, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool had already considered Phillips signing last summer before being persuaded by Guardiola to move to Manchester.
The Anfield side may also need reinforcements quickly as Alexis Mac Allister is currently expected to miss the next three games following his red card against Bournemouth.
