His attorneys had previously argued that he was at high risk of suicide and was too ill to be brought to the US for trial.

But the US has assured that Assange will not be held in a notorious “supermax” prison.

Assange has been detained at HMP Belmarsh for the past two years after hiding in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for seven years.

WikiLeaks emerged in 2010 when it published a series of leaks provided by a WE Military intelligence analyst named Chelsea Manning.

The information includes videos of Murder for the Baghdad Airstrikes, Afghanistan War Diaries, Iraq War Diaries, and Cablegate.

He was granted asylum by Ecuador out of fear of political persecution and extradition to the United States.

Assange remained at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for about seven years.

He was granted Ecuadorian citizenship in 2018 but his asylum status was withdrawn after a series of disputes with Ecuadorian authorities in 2019.
