Julia Garner’s Best Movies and Shows (and Where to Play Them)

Julia Garner is one of the most talented actresses working in business today. The 28-year-old New York-born girl has become a household name for her role as Ruth Langmore on Ozark, which earned her two Emmy Awards. For the final season of the Netflix thriller, we’re sure she’ll at least win another nomination. Her acting keeps getting better and I can’t wait to see what her character will do next in Ozark season 4 part 2.

While we wait Ozark To come back, let’s take a look at Garner’s acting credits and break down the movies and shows you should absolutely add to your watch list. These are her best titles to date.

Martha Marcy May Marlene , in my opinion, is the best movie on Garner’s resume. The 2011 film stars Elizabeth Olsen as Martha, a young man in his twenties escaping her life in a cult. Now living with her sister and brother-in-law, she must learn to deal with the trauma she faces without explaining where she’s been with her family.

Garner has a small role as Sarah, a young woman who has just joined the cult. The movie is absolutely gripping and has a great ending.

Sarah Paulson, John Hawkes and Hugh Dancy also appear in Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Julia Garner shows: Ozark

Ozark . season 1 release date

Ozark is one of Netflix’s best original shows All Time, first released in 2017. Following married couple Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney), we watch as they uproot their families and move to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri after a money-laundering conspiracy goes by. Throughout the seasons, the family must deal with local drug dealers and Mexican gangs as they battle for more power.

Garner plays the one and only Ruth Langmore, who is one of my personal favorite Netflix characters ever. She is quick witted, super smart and doesn’t give in to anyone. She totally made the show, and I don’t think it would be as interesting without Garner.

Ozark Season 4 season 2 premieres April 29, 2022. That would mark the end of the series.

Julia Garner shows: Maniac

Maniac is an underrated Netflix show. The sci-fi dark comedy debuted back in 2018, starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill in the lead roles. Two of their characters participate in a drug experiment that brings them to the ultimate psychological test. Each episode is super original and thought-provoking.

Other familiar faces include Justin Theroux, Sally Field, and star Gabriel Byrne. As for Garner, she had a recurring role as the sister of Stone’s character, who had died years earlier.

Maniac received critical acclaim and earned Stone an Emmy Award nomination, but I still don’t think it’s talked about much.

Drama is definitely what Garner does best, and Assistant Is no exception. The 2019 film follows the protagonist Jane (Garner), a film assistant living in New York City. It’s a chilling look at workplace sexual harassment, as over the course of the day we see it from Jane’s eyes, she witnesses a lot of inappropriate behavior from his boss.

Although Jane tries to act and talk to HR, among other things, it is clear that she is completely helpless in this situation. Matthew Macfadyen, Kristine Froseth, and Makenzie Leigh co-star in the film.

If you grew up on Tumblr, reading books like the coming-of-age works of John Green, Stephenie Meyer, and Suzanne Collins, chances are you’ve read The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and saw his 2012 film adaptation.

Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, and Ezra Miller, the film tells the story of a depressed teenager named Charlie (Lerman), who enters high school as an outcast. To avoid facing the trauma he faced during his childhood, he fortunately became friends with the two seniors and their circle, and developed a close relationship with his English teacher. . Garner plays an old friend of Charlie.

I’ll go out and say The perks of being a wallflower is the best coming-of-age story ever.
