Joy-Anna Duggar and husband Austin Forsyth reveal devastating loss of family member as couple ‘didn’t see it coming’

JOY-ANNA Duggar and husband Austin Forsyth have revealed the loss of Austin’s grandmother, Mary Duggar, in an emotional new video.

Joy-Anna and Austin posted a new YouTube video titled “Sad times in our family…” explaining what happened.

“It’s been about a week since we received a devastating call,” Joy-Anna said at the beginning of the video.

“We had quite a bit of snow for Arkansas, so we went out to hang out with my dad. My grandmother lives out there for the kids to go sledding and stuff. Austin explained while telling the story while Joy-Anna watched.

Austin wore a dejected expression as he continued to recount what had happened: “We spent the night, got up that morning, played, babysat the kids, went sledding and we came back to town to go to the to go to church.”

He continued, “I got a call from my father right after church was out and my grandmother passed away. It was really unexpected.”

Austin’s grandmother was “83 and a half,” he said as he finished the story.

“She had a good, long life and had a couple of grandchildren, so we were really grateful to be able to spend her final days with her,” Austin said of his grandmother’s death.

“But it was just really sad. Her husband died three years ago. She lived alone, she was very independent, still drove, and she was one of those grandmothers that I would feel comfortable having my kids drive with.”

Austin blinked back tears as he continued talking to the camera.

“It’s been a really sad week and I really hoped our little baby would meet her,” he said.

The fans joined in with a wave of support for the Duggars.

One wrote: “My condolences to you all on the loss of Austin’s grandmother. Hugs to you all.”

Another shared: “I’m so sorry about your grandmother. I pray that the Lord will give you strength and guidance to get through this difficult time in your life. And in Jesus name we pray Amen.”

A third said: “What a blessing that she got to share her final days with the joy of toddler smiles and giggles. Mimi will surely be in their hearts forever.”

Meanwhile, Joy-Anna broke her strict family dress code in a new photo showing off her growing baby bump.

The former TLC star is growing and glowing as she documents her pregnancy journey over the past few months.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Joy-Anna shared a photo of herself posing in front of a large mirror and cradling her growing belly.

The Counting On alum wore slim-fitting jeans with a flared leg, a black t-shirt and a tan jacket.

Her caption read, “24 weeks!”

Joy-Anna’s choice of attire shocked her followers, rocking an outfit that defied Duggar’s strict dress standards.

Her father Jim Bob’s dress code prohibits his daughters from wearing jeans.

The former reality star has been posting tummy selfies documenting her journey, and some fans are suspecting Joy-Anna is pregnant with not just one baby, but two.

“Did I miss a twin announcement?” one person asked in the comments to another Instagram photo.

“Big baby I think. Or two,” suggested another.

NO JOY HERE

Earlier, Joy-Anna was slammed after fans noticed she liked a “hateful” post on social media.

The pregnant reality TV star took to Instagram to show her support for Kristen Nicole Young and people aren’t happy about it.

Last week, Kristen posted video of her baby son Brecken’s baptism, saying he was “dead spiritually, separated from God and deserving of the wrath of God.”

Many noticed that Joy-Anna liked the video and took to Reddit to post a screenshot.

“Not Joy likes Kristen Nicole Young’s post calling her FOUR YEAR OLD SON ‘spiritually dead’ and another horribly transphobic post,” the author captioned the thread.

The other post they referenced was a video of Kristen ranting, “Like why? Why? Why can’t children just learn? from them, even in subtle messages and explicit messages?

“Why? I don’t understand, I understand, but I don’t understand,” she added.

Reddit users were furious when one person on the thread wrote, “Appalling but not surprising. Even if some of the Duggars have withdrawn from IBLP, they ALL still hold hateful beliefs.”

Another said: “She probably liked it because it included a creepy voiceover of the kids’ statement. I’m just saying creepy because it’s obviously not his words.”

A third person suggested: “I bet Joy didn’t even read it. But yes, you are the company you keep.”

Another commented, “These people are SICK,” while another claimed, “She hasn’t liked it since and isn’t following her.”
