Jorge Masvidal vs Colby Covington CONFIRMED in the big UFC 272 main event on March 5 after years of queuing between pairs

JORGE MASVIDAL and Colby Covington will finally settle their feud later this year.
The two-time welterweight champions will face off on March 5 in the main event of UFC 272 in Las Vegas.
The pair’s long-awaited clash will be the first time a non-Conor McGregor non-title fight has resulted in a pay-per-view event in more than a year. SEVEN many years.
Masvidal vs Covington, a bout between two of the UFC’s biggest names against each other, has been a fight for several years.
The pair have been head-to-head for almost three years after a shocking fallout.
Masvidal, 37, and Covington, 33, were friends for a decade and were roommates in the early days of their UFC careers.
But their feelings soured in June 2018 after Covington allegedly failed to pay one of Masvidal’s coaches to coach him for an interim welterweight title match against Rafael. dos Anjos.
The old friends feud became so hot that Covington – who annoyed some of his former teammates with his antics – had to leave the American Top Team.

The 170lb outsiders have yet to see each other since their infamous bankruptcy and will certainly provide fireworks at their pre-match press conference.
Last year, Covington told MMA . journalist James Lynch: “We were best friends, inseparable, lived together for several years, just friends for almost a decade.
“You think we’re really going to say these things about each other in the media?
“Like, if I saw him on the street, he’d definitely fall and hit his head and he’d go to the hospital.
“He won’t be able to afford the hospital bills. I want the UFC to pay them when I beat him in the octagon.
“So I don’t want to have to do it on the street.”
“But this is a personal fight, James. This is as real as it gets, like the UFC saying.
“And whoever thinks we’re still friends, man, I don’t know what they’re thinking, man.
“They must be smoking some good weed or something.”
THE POLICE CALLED
Earlier in the year, Masvidal told ESPN: “Colby is a person, and I always say this, that wherever I see him, it’s a free pay-per-view right there.
“And he knew it. I got kicked out of the gym for trying to assault him once.
“And then I used to go to the spots he used to go to a lot and get called by the police.”
Both men will enter their much-anticipated feud after their defeat to heavyweight king Kamaru Usman, who stopped Masvidal at UFC 261 last April and sign up for a unanimous decision on Covington at UFC 268 October next year.
