JOHN Duggar and his wife Abbie said they were “grateful for God’s protection” after a “scary” plane crash destroyed their personal plane.

Count stars John, 32 years old, and his wife Abbie, 29, have finally spoken out about their “scary” plane crash in October.

The couple told Celebuzz: “Emergency landing or any kind of plane crash is a scary thing, but that’s exactly what pilots are trained for.

“We are so grateful for God’s protection, as we all went unhurt when this happened last October.

They continued, “We greatly appreciate the love and care that so many have shown us!”


The Sun reported that John crashed on a plane and called 911 during an in-flight emergency just weeks before his brother Josh was found guilty of child pornography.

The reality star has a commercial pilot license and runs Medic Corps, a nonprofit that deploys planes to help with disaster relief.

The Wavery, Tennessee Sheriff’s Department exclusively confirmed to The Sun that the Piper PA-30 crashed around 7 p.m. on October 29, 2021.

“A family from Arkansas ran out of fuel and landed in a field,” the spokesman said.

Although there were no injuries, the aircraft was described as “lost” due to damage.

Dispatch confirmed to The Sun that John David flew the plane and made a 911 call.

No medics were called, but the National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the crash.

According to the crash report obtained by The Sun, the plane suffered “significant” damage.

The use of the plane was for “personal” purposes and the flight lasted only five minutes, according to online aviation records.

John David received his commercial pilot license just weeks after the November 14, 2021 crash, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

He also has a flight instructor license.

Traveling by plane is a common hobby for the couple, as John David and Abbie propose are surrounded by planes, and take their wedding photos at an airport.

Abbie celebrated her birthday in April at a SUN ‘n FUN broadcast in Florida.

John David’s brothers are Jeremiah, Josiah and brother-in-law Austin Forsyth all have their pilot’s licenses also.


The terrifying accident happened just a month before his brother Josh went to court for child pornography.

Josh33, is arrested and charged with receiving and possessing child pornography in April 2021.

He was convicted of possessing and receiving child pornography on December 9 after a trial that lasted nearly two weeks.
