JOEY BARTON gave Tottenham fans the middle finger after being seated in Marseille’s away game for Wednesday’s Champions League clash.
The Bristol Rovers boss met supporters of the French club in a pub before the game.
He then walked with them to the stadium and gave the Spurs fans the middle finger when he was in the ground in the middle of the action.
Barton, 40, was on loan at Marseille in 2012-13 and shares close ties with the team.
And it seems the sentiment is reciprocated by the Marseille fan base as they still hold him in high esteem.
A crowd of Marseille fans broke out in song as Barton entered a Tottenham pub ahead of their game.
The boisterous crowd chanted Barton’s name and the former midfielder was happy to pose for photos.
Barton was given an even bigger reception at Tottenham Hotspur, wearing a Marseille T-shirt which he appears to have gifted.
The Bristol Rovers boss looked humbled as he took in the admiration of nearby fans and offered his thanks to the crowd.
Barton began fist pumping, then applauded the traveling supporters for their efforts as they spoke in a delicate voice.

Meanwhile, Bristol Rovers’ social media team responded to footage of Barton circling Twitter by saying: “G…gaffer?”
Football fans have been impressed by Barton’s dedication to his former side, with one supporter writing: ‘Quality’.
Another commented: “What a guy love him me😂.”
And a third said: “Quality, that boy Marseille ultra.”
Unfortunately for Barton, he couldn’t roar his former team to victory as a brace from Richarlison condemned them to a 2-0 loss.
The game was marred by ugly clashes between fans at the stadium.
