Joe Joyce gives a hilariously awkward response after opponent Zhilei Zhang stormed the interview for an intense duel

JOE JOYCE reacted hysterically after rising opponent Zhilei Zhang stormed into his gym during an interview.

Britain’s Joyce, 37, will face off against Chinese heavyweight Zhang, 39, on April 15 at the Copper Box Arena.

Neither man is particularly known for talking trash outside of the ring.

But Zhang, nicknamed Big Bang, tried to garner a little attention on Wednesday when he showed up uninvited at Joyce’s training facility.

Olympic silver medalist Joyce was interviewed by Queensbury Actions when Zhang entered the room.

A perplexed Joyce looked over and said, “Oh, here he is!”

Zhang then proceeded to ask the Brit quite confrontationally, “Big Bang is here. Are you ready?

But Joyce didn’t quite take the remark as he hilariously replied, “I don’t know what you said, but yeah, let’s go!”

Zhang then said awkwardly, “You are ready? I’m ready.”

Before Joyce added, “You’re here. did you fly here And you’re ready for action, yes?”

The pair were then urged to huddle closer together as they engaged in a duel for the cameras.

Joyce has won all 15 of his pro fights to date – the last one came against Joseph Parker in September.

And he has his sights set firmly on the winner of the undisputed fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk – which is expected to take place in the first half of 2023.

Meanwhile, Zhang suffered his first professional defeat last time out against Filip Hrgovic, losing a narrow decision in Usyk’s win over Anthony Joshua in August in Saudi Arabia.

Before that he had won 24 and drawn one of his 25 competitions.

And Zhang will hope to surprise Joyce in what would be a devastating blow to the Briton’s World Cup ambitions.
