Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard announce they’re having a boy and share new photos while the star is pregnant with third child

JILL Duggar and husband Derick Dillard announced the gender of their baby in a blog post on Wednesday.

The family recently fell ill with Covid, which forced them to cancel the planned gender reveal party.

Jill and Derick shared a photo in which they posed next to sons Samuel and Israel, holding a blue sign that read “Baby.”

In the blog, titled ‘We’ve got a…’, they revealed: ‘We originally planned to find out our baby’s gender sooner a few weeks ago, but Covid hit our family and we had to postpone the exciting reveal.

“However, this turned out to be a stroke of luck because when we were able to reschedule the date, Israel was on spring break.”

The Duggar daughter continued, “This meant our whole family could be together for the date as we all found out together that another little boy was about to join the Dillard tribe!”

As they celebrated the news, Jill and Derick made sure it was special to both themselves and their kids.

She wrote: “We decided to make it a special day by starting by having breakfast together at a local restaurant called Buttered Biscuit.

“Then we did a little shopping before heading to our appointment to find out the exciting news.”

The mother-of-two continued: “We are grateful to be having a healthy baby boy in July! Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated.”

The happy news comes amid the couple’s concerns following their Covid diagnosis.

Jill and Derick confirmed to TMZ and on Instagram that they have tested positive for the virus.

The couple told the outlet that “they are both concerned that Jill is battling the virus while she’s expecting.”

The parents were “unsure” about the possible long-term effects of Covid on pregnant women.

Jill suffered a devastating miscarriage in 2021, which the outlet said “only increases her anxiety.”

TMZ reported that Jill and her husband are “fully vaccinated” and taking baby aspirin while monitoring their unborn child’s heart rate.

Jill added that she was “grateful” that she didn’t get Covid in her first trimester.

She was also happy to learn that her children were “healthy,” at least at this point.

Jill and Derick confirmed they met Covid with a series of photos posted to Instagram.

In one, the couple posed with a thermos of tea and a box of tissues.

A second photo showed her positive test results.

“Give me all the hot liquids and cough drops, please!!” Derick and I tested + for Covid for the first time and it’s not fun!” she wrote.

“With a little help from family, we were still able to celebrate Derick’s birthday at home yesterday, although it wasn’t what we originally hoped.”

A third photo in the slideshow showed Derick holding a birthday cake.

“Prayers for a speedy recovery and for the baby to stay healthy too!” She wrote, adding the hashtags: “#covid2022 #positiveforcovid #birthday #babydilly.”

In a second post, Jill shared a photo of a bowl of soup and wrote, “Enjoy homemade bone broth chicken noodle soup with kale and carrots” with the hashtag “#covidfood.”

Jill announced she was pregnant again in February.

The news came months after she confirmed she had suffered a miscarriage.

In a blog post, Jill and Derick announced they were pregnant after losing their daughter River.

She wrote at the time: “We kept a little secret!”

Jill continued, “Since we were devastated by the miscarriage of our sweet baby River Bliss last fall, we have prayed that if it were God’s will, He would bless us with another baby.”

Your message ended with; “We are excited to announce that God has heard our prayers and we are expecting our rainbow baby in July 2022!”

At that point, they did not know the gender of their baby.

They said they were “so excited” to learn this information, adding that they plan to do so “soon”.
