Jill Duggar claims in a bombastic reveal about a documentary that she “never received any money” for filming TLC shows for eight years

JILL Duggar has revealed she was not paid for appearing on 19 Kids and Counting On with her family.
Jill opened up about her upbringing and family in a new documentary titled Shiny Happy People, and revealed some shocking secrets.
In an episode of the four-part documentary series, which premiered Friday on Amazon Video, 32-year-old Jill and her husband Derick Dillard opened up about their time on the family’s TLC reality shows.
The couple said on Shiny Happy People that they had little control over the show’s content, claiming they were barred from negotiations and not compensated for their performance.
Derick said in the film, “We didn’t have a choice because 4.4 million people saw our wedding.”
In addition to filming their big day for the show, viewers of 19 Kids and Counting were able to witness the moment Jill and Derick told the Duggar family they were expecting and the birth of their first child.

The latter wasn’t what they wanted to present, but the network pushed for it and the young stars agreed.
After the fact, Jill said they went to the station and asked for some cash to cover their expenses and were shocked by their response.
“After the birth of Israel, we asked TLC to pay us enough to cover our prime cost of health insurance for the birth of Israel,” she said.
Derick added: “They said they paid for the family. If we pay the family we get nothing at this point. They said, ‘Well, we paid your father, so talk to him about it.’”

Jill said it wasn’t just the birth of Israel that she wasn’t receiving compensation for.
“I have never received a payout. No check. no cash Nothing. “For seven and a half years of my adult life, I never got paid,” she said on Shiny Happy People.
JILL’S PAIN
Jill and Derick spoke openly in the documentary about many of the dark things they went through in secret before distancing themselves from the Duggars.
In the film, Jill looked back at the “burden” she felt as she had to help her family keep up their TV show after brother Josh Duggar’s abuse threatened to destroy their empire.
Fans learned in 2015 that Jill, Jessa, other Duggar girls and at least one family friend were petted by Josh years earlier when he was a teenager.
After the scandal broke, Jill and Jessa were paraded in front of television audiences to downplay what happened to them and clean up the mess that had ensued.
They did an emotional interview with Megyn Kelly in which they firmly stood by the Duggars, which Jill says was due to her parents’ urging in Shiny Happy People.
“In hindsight, I wouldn’t have done the Megyn Kelly stuff,” she said.
“I felt like I was back in a place where I had to carry the burden and the weight,” she said, breaking down in tears.
“Even if you volunteer, you feel an obligation to help.”
DUGGAR’S REACT
Jim Bob and Michelle have covered the documentary which is about their family and the IBLP Church.
The patriarch and matriarch of Duggar issued a statement on the matter family websiteand they also shared the news on Instagram.
The Counting On star said in a statement, “The recent ‘documentary’ that talks about our family is sad because it shows us how the media and those with bad intentions are hurting people we love.”
“Like other families, ours has experienced the joys and heartaches of life, only in a very public way.
“This ‘documentary’ portrays so much in a derogatory and sensationalist way, because sadly that’s the way entertainment is these days.”
It continued, “We have always believed that the best chance to mend damaged relationships or settle differences is through love in private.”

“We love every member of our family and will continue to do everything we can to have a good relationship with each one.”
“Through triumphs and trials, we have grown stronger in our faith and discovered that it is through the love and grace of Jesus that we find strength, comfort, and purpose.”
