JILL Biden’s legislative goal of providing free community higher education was rescinded after she announced five million students would not receive two years of free education.
On Monday, the first lady revealed she was “disappointed” to learn that one of her main reasons had been her removal from the presidency. Joe BidenThe Build Back Better Agenda.
“Congress has yet to pass the Build Back Better agenda. And free community college is no longer part of that package. We know it’s not going to be easy – Joe always says it.” Jill speak.
“Same as you, I’m frustrated because like you, these aren’t just bills or budgets for me, for you, right? We know what they mean to real people, And it’s a real lesson in human nature that some people just don’t get.”
The move is expected to raise more than $45 million from Build Back Better to waive two-year tuition for students.
That grant is intended to last for 5 years and then decrease by 5% each year thereafter.
For several years, Jill – a longtime educator himself – promoted two years of free community college to eligible students across the United States.
Last February, the first lady said that schools need to be reached to help people get through Coronavirus– economic downturn.
“We have to get this done. And we have to do it now. That’s why we’ll make sure everyone has access to free community college and training programs.
“We will make sure students have the support they need to cross that finish line. At the time, Jill said, we will invest in programs that prepare our workers for future jobs.
JILL’S PROMISE TO OVER FEMALE
However, at a news conference last month, President Biden told reporters he was worried that the composition of his spending plan would not deliver the final cut.
“There are two really big components that I feel strongly about that I’m not sure I can get in the package. One is the childcare tax credit, and the other is the cost assistance for community colleges. ,” Biden said.
“Normally, we treat what happens in our nation’s capital like a sports game – weighing which team will score the most points with the voters. The law becomes a kind of football. to get away from the other side, and the Americans got lost in the play.
“Execution has something in common with sports. When you get knocked down, you come back. When you lose, you work harder and come back with more,” Jill said.
The First Lady added that she and the President will continue to push for free support for community college students.
