The WWE star recently spoke of cardiac arrest

A decade after suffering ringside cardiac arrest, Jerry Lawler recently appeared on The Jonny Dare Morning Show to recount what transpired that fateful night in Montreal.

Lawler took the opportunity to “fix the story.”

Despite reports to the contrary, Lawler said he suffered cardiac arrest, not a heart attack.

Lawler explained, “A heart attack is when you have blocked arteries and blood clots or something is blocking your veins or your arteries and stuff like that and then your heart gets damaged from a lack of blood flow or you can die from that course.”

“But cardiac arrest is when your heart suddenly stops beating for one reason or another.

“And only seven out of 1,000 people with cardiac arrest survive, and the only ones that do is if they get immediate care, because technically, once you have cardiac arrest, your heart stops and you’re dead.”
