Jeffrey ‘JV’ Vandergrift dead: Missing Wild 94.9 DJ’s body found after disappearing from home
THE body of a beloved DJ was found a month after the Bay Area radio host disappeared.
The remains of Jeffrey Vandergrift, host of radio station KYLD Wild 94.9’s JV Show, were found Wednesday night at San Francisco’s Pier 39, police confirmed.

A coroner confirmed on Thursday that the body was that of the beloved DJ.
An autopsy is still pending to determine the official cause of death.
Vandergrift was last seen leaving his home in San Francisco exactly a month ago on the evening of February 23.
He didn’t tell anyone where he was going, San Francisco police said.
One of DJ JV’s colleagues has raised concerns about his disappearance after revealing that Vandergrift’s cellphone and bank accounts have shown no activity since the night he went missing.
“Since that time there has been no trackable activity on his phone. There was also no activity on his credit cards or other banking records.”
According to his official Instagram account, Vandergrift’s last post was on August 20, 2022, however it appears that the post’s caption was edited within the last two days.
“Thank you for a wonderful life of joy, laughter, pain and struggle,” the post reads, along with a photo of Vandergrift wearing a Wild 94.9 shirt.
“It has been a great journey. Your support and prayers meant the world.”
Wild 94.9 released a statement at the time of JV’s disappearance: “We are deeply concerned, as we know you, that our own JV has been reported missing by the SFPD.
“We work closely with them and his wife, Natasha, who is also a dear friend and member of the WiLD 94.9 family.
“We are sending love, thoughts and prayers to JV and will share more information as we receive it.”
