Jeff Stelling’s next career move after leaving Sky Sports has been revealed as the legendary presenter steps away from television

JEFF STELLING is reportedly the “front-runner” to succeed Laura Woods as the new host of talkSPORT’s breakfast show.

Stelling retired in May after 30 years as the host of Soccer Saturday.

Reports then surfaced that he was in talks with Amazon and the BBC about returning to broadcasting.

The 68-year-old has no plans to retire but has been placed on gardening leave until December.

However, Stelling made a one-off Countdown comeback as a dictionary corner special guest in June, while Rachel Riley put on a leggy show on his return.

Now the Daily Mail claims he is “close to agreeing to a deal that would put him on the country’s airwaves”.

They add that his potential arrival would have no “impact on Alan Brazil” as the former Scotland striker will continue to appear on Thursdays and Fridays.
