Jedrzejczyk is retiring after suffering a fresh loss to Weili in the rematch of the fight that left her face unrecognizable

JOANNA JEDRZEJCZYK has retired from UFC after being eliminated in their rematch with Zhang Weili.

The star famously looked unrecognizable after her brutal loss to the same opponent in 2020, and admittedly looked like a zombie herself.

And now she’s finished it off in the cage after being knocked out again by her Chinese rival UFC 275 last night in Singapore.

Jedrzejczyk was left face down on the canvas after being caught with a stunning spinning backfist.

She then placed her gloves in the center of the octagon – this is the traditional sign that a fighter is planning to retire.

And the brave warrior then confirmed that she will fight no more.

She said: “Guys, I love life so much.

“I will join DCs [Daniel Cormier] League. I’m retired guys. I love you so much. Thanks for the support.

“That was 20 years ago. I’ll be 35 this year. I want to be a mother.

“I want to be a business woman. I train more than half of my life. I love you.

“Dana [White], I’m so sorry I let you down man. Lorenzo [ Fertitta], when you were still here. Hunter [Campbell]matchmaker.

“But I want to give a big shout out and a big thank you to all the UFC staff. Without them we wouldn’t be here. I love you. Every single person.”

Former strawweight champion Jedrzejczyk added, “I’ve been a dominant champion with five successful title defenses.

“I’ve lost and there have been ups and downs, but I can’t wait to enjoy my retirement. No more hard work, constant weight loss or sleeping!

“UFC has changed my life and I’m trying to give back as much as I can, but it’s time for me and my closest people, my family, to be together.”

Weili said: “I am very, very happy about this fight.

“I told myself that I would use all my assets to beat my opponent. I’m very, very calm and relaxed for this fight. I really want to tell Joanna she’s a fighter, she’s a warrior.”
