New Lifetime documentary, titled Janet Jacksonstarting with the singer visiting her hometown of Gary, Indiana.

“It was just the right thing to do,” she said confidently.

Janet then sat back in her seat as emotions surged while she continued to observe the mural.

After thinking about the unexpected moment for a few seconds, she burst into tears.

“That’s so sweet and it’s all upward. With the exception of Mike, he looks very straightforward, always inquisitive,” she said with a laugh as she wiped her tears.

The couple broke off their engagement just a year later, after Janet discovered that James was allegedly using drugs.

This superstar was also married to Rene Elizondo from 1991-2000 but has known her husband Wissam Al Mana since 2012.

Second half of Janet’s Documentary will air on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime and A&E.

It coincided with the 40th anniversary of her self-titled debut album.

Documentary will last a total of four hours and is filled with unseen footage from both Janet’s personal and professional life.

“This is my story, told by me. Not through the eyes of others,” Janet said of the film – which has been five years in the making.

“This is the truth. Take it or let it go. Love it or hate it. This is me.”
