Fonda celebrates her 85th birthday on December 21st.
“Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can stop chemo,” she wrote.
“I feel so blessed, so lucky.
“Thank you to everyone who prayed and sent me good thoughts.

“I’m confident it played a part in the good news.”
Fonda shared that while her first few chemo treatments were easy, the last session “was tough and lasted two weeks, which made it difficult to accomplish a lot.”
She said the effects of the chemotherapy wore off when she was in DC at the Fire Drill Fridays rally, where she lobbied and spoke on behalf of climate change.
Fonda shared the news of her cancer diagnosis on September 22nd.
“I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and started chemotherapy,” she wrote on Instagram.
“This is a highly treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I’m very lucky.”
