James Maddison enjoys the night of darts just hours after a stunning performance led to calls for England’s World Cup spot

JAMES MADDISON enjoyed a night of darts a day after he inspired Leicester to a crucial Premier League win.
The attacking midfielder has been in stunning form this season, adding two goals and an assist to his tally in his side’s 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Monday.

Last night the 25-year-old toasted victory by watching the World Grand Prix in Leicester.
Speaking to Sky Sports about his darts-themed goal celebrations during the event, Maddison said: “Me and a couple of the guys – Jamie Vardy, Luke Thomas, Harvey Barnes – we play darts all the time.
“Every away game we set up the board when we have time to kill and play.
“So it came about, and Gezzy (Gerwyn Price) was there last night. He asked me for some tickets so he came down to support… and he can come back btw!
“So I said I would come and support him tonight.”
When asked if he had a board at home, he replied, “Yeah, yeah – practice all the time.
“My girlfriend is American and actually got her into it, so sometimes she’s down there practicing too.”
England hopeful Maddison with one cap sparked recall talks with his recent superb performance against Forest.

After the game, pundit Gary Neville hinted that Maddison might not be the best “traveler” with the Three Lions.
When asked about it, the player himself objected, replying: “Yes, I’ve never seen anything like it, but it almost calls into question my personality and professionalism, which is obviously quite insulting.
“I’m not sure… I’ve never seen anything like it…”
Maddison has five goals and two assists in seven Prem games this season.
Newcastle are keen to make a move for him in January after £40m and £45m bids were rejected in the summer.
