Jake Sanford cut by the Yankees for stealing gear from minor league teammates and cheating fans out of money online

The Yankees have cut former third-round pick Jake Sanford over allegations he stole gear from his teammates to sell online.

The New York team reportedly cut Sanford last Thursday after it was revealed the 24-year-old had “repeatedly stalked” teammates over their gear during his time in the minor leagues.

Sanford, who played college baseball in Western Kentucky, was also accused of accepting money from buyers who wanted the gear before he failed to deliver the items, as reported by NJ.com.

Sanford deleted his Twitter after his release from the team. His Instagram account was also deleted. His bio previously stated that he was part of the New York Yankees Organization.

Upon his draft in 2019, he received a $597,000 signing bonus.

An investigation conducted by the Yankees looked into the allegations against Sanford. The details of the investigation were not released, but it resulted in him being cut.
