Although there had been debate over whether to fight at all, after Silva raised concern by saying he was knocked out twice in training for the 187lb catch weight bout with Paul.

However, the UFC legend – who spoke at open practice – later clarified that it was just kidology and was lost in translation.

The Arizona Commission responded by holding an emergency meeting later that evening to discuss the claims.

Silva underwent an MRI scan on Wednesday which, along with previous medical tests, all returned “untouched” results.

Commissioner Ara J. Feinstein, a trauma surgeon and ringside doctor, handed the Brazilian over for the fight.
