I’ve been living in my SUV for over a year – I spend only a dollar a day on the most crucial facility I need to get by

A MAN who’s been living in his SUV for over a year has revealed the top item he spends on each month to make life a little easier — and it only costs $1 a day.
Michael Lawrence, also known as Marmalade Outdoors on social media, has been living in his 2020 Ford Escape since late 2021.

The self-proclaimed “outdoor junkie” regularly shares videos with backpacking and hiking tips as well as information about his life in the car on YouTube.
Recently, Lawrence shared a video with his fans and followers about the seven most important things people should have when considering living in their car.
Number one on his list is very easy to get and versatile: a gym membership.
Lawrence announced that he is a member of 24 Hour Fitness in Southern California.

“They’re everywhere,” he said in the YouTube video.
“I paid a little more to get a membership that lets me go anywhere I want.”
The nature lover said he pays about $30 a month after taxes and other fees are deducted.
“It’s basically $1 a day,” he said.
Membership not only allows him to train, but also access necessary amenities such as shower facilities.
Lawrence recommended looking at different memberships to find the best budget-friendly option.
In particular, he pointed out that Planet Fitness might be more budget-friendly since they offer Black Card membership for less than $25 a month.
With this plan, members get access to all locations across the country.
“Depending on where you live or if you’re traveling, that’s probably a good choice.”
Additionally, Lawrence recommended becoming a member of a 24-hour gym to gain access to their parking facilities.
“It’s a good spot for self-camping and adding to your rotation,” he said.
In the recent video, Lawrence also suggested that those who wish to live in their car must purchase window coverings, a cooler, a battery charger, a sturdy sleeping facility, and secure a physical mailing address through a locker system.
