LIONEL MESSI has been urged to return to Barcelona by his ex-teammate Dani Alves.
This comes after it was reported that the star’s father Jorge called Nou camp bosses to secure a shock reunion for his son.
The Argentine legend, 34, has endured a terrible debut season at Paris Saint-Germain by his own high standards.
And Alves has urged his old pal to return to Catalonia for a ‘last dance’ together.
The full-back said: “I don’t know what he’s thinking or wants to do.
“He might come back with me for one last dance for a little year.
“Why not? Nowhere is better than here.
“We can’t be better off than at Barca.
“He left and tried the experience. It’s time to return home if he wants to.”
Messi was controversially told last summer to leave Barcelona due to cost concerns.

But after the big fanfare following his move to the French capital, Messi is struggling to repeat his top form.
He has only scored three goals in 20 domestic games for PSG.
Messi was on the pitch when his new club were knocked out of the Champions League by old rivals Real Madrid in the round of 16.
And the Argentine was booed – along with Neymar – every time he touched the ball in the weekend’s 3-0 win over Bordeaux.
Alves rejoined the Catalan club himself and became Xavi’s first signing as Barca manager in November.
And Xavi has claimed the ‘door is always open’ for Messi to make an emotional return to the club.
President Joan Laporta also hinted that the former No.10 would “always be welcome back at the club as it’s his home”.
