But Mane humbly searches for his Liverpool teammate Salah while his teammates headed towards their fans to celebrate.

He said: “I told him he is still a very great player and very happy to be playing for the same club.

“I have a lot of respect for him and he gave everything for his country.

“Unfortunately, he didn’t win, but that doesn’t mean it’s over for him.

“I also told him that he still has a lot of things to win, including the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. They have a young team so maybe one day they will win.”

Salah didn’t even start in the penalty shootout because he was down to fifth place and Egypt didn’t get that far.
