‘It was horrible’ – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It was a violent Sunday night across the city of Pittsburgh.

Police are currently gathering evidence to try to find out who caused a shooting.

The first shooting occurred on Kedron Street in Homewood. Some residents said they saw the aftermath of the incident – crime scene video and flashing lights.

Others say they have heard.

Leslie Blake, who has lived on that street for more than 40 years, said: “I heard there were 8-10 pictures. “I tried to stay away from the windows.”

Blake lives near where the incident happened.

“It was overwhelming,” Blake said. “The whole situation is overwhelming. Whenever it happens, it’s overwhelming – young or old. ”

Pittsburgh police say they responded to a Shotspotter alert around 10 p.m

“When (the officers) arrived at the scene, they found a male on the sidewalk,” said Pittsburgh Police Chief Crime Officer Major Richard Ford. “He had at least one gunshot wound to the head.”

Ford said the man was about 50 years old, and he died at the scene.

“This is the third homicide we’ve encountered this week in the city,” Ford said.

“I’m disappointed,” Blake said. “I don’t know what will happen to our young men. I don’t know what initiated that. It is just terrible. ”

And more gunfire rang out late Sunday, this time in the north.

Just after 11 p.m., a man arrived at Allegheny General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. A short time later, officers arrived at Island and Preble Avenues, where another man was calling for help.

Police said the man came out from the Ohio River, and officers quickly realized he had been shot multiple times.

The Medics took him to the hospital in critical condition.

“I just pray we can find a way to stop this and get something for these young people to do,” Blake said. “I don’t know whether young or old who did it. But we have to find another way to solve our problem. This is not it. ”
