Israel Adesanya retains the middleweight title with complete elimination against bitter rival Whittaker, who opposes the loss

ISRAEL ADESANYA remains the UFC middleweight champion after an overwhelming victory over Robert Whittaker.
Adesanya renewed his rivalry with his fellow fan favorite early Sunday morning in UFC 271 main event in Houston, Texas.
Nigerian-born Kiwi Adesanya brutally dethroned the Australian in the blockbuster Transman clash two and a half years ago.
But he failed to speak The Reaper more forcefully a second time, instead he had to settle for a decisive unanimous victory.
Adesanya had his second clash with Whittaker hellbent, better completing the stunning finish he scored at UFC 243.
When asked about his ability to ignore enemies, he said SunSport: “Not this time.
“It really gives me more incentive to do it again and do it more definitively, if that’s even possible. That’s why, I believe it is.
“That’s my motivation for this fight, that’s what got me this fight.
“Had to do it again in a more devastating way.”
