God’s favorite idiot with Melissa McCarthy is coming to Netflix on June 15, and of course any movie or TV series starring McCarthy is something you’ll want to watch. But can you watch this show with your kids or do you have to save it for later when they go to bed and are ready for bed? We’ve shared the parent’s guide and age rating right below.
God’s favorite idiot is an apocalyptic workplace comedy series created by Ben Falcone. Falcone also plays protagonist Clark Thompson on the series, along with his wife Melissa McCarthy, who plays the role of Amily Luck.
The story follows a mid-level tech support agent named Clark who suddenly gains the ability to glow after being struck by lightning. While his colleagues and girlfriend believe his newfound ability is somehow related to God, Clark isn’t sure but believes there must be a reasonable explanation. But it turns out that his colleagues and his girlfriend were right, as an angel is sent to tell Clark that he has been chosen by God to help the world before an impending apocalypse.
The rest of the cast includes Leslie Bibb, Kevin Dunn, Yanic Truesdale, Usman Ally, Ana Scotney, Chris Sandiford and Steve Mallory. That’s the way it is God’s favorite idiot child friendly? We’ve answered that burning question below!
God’s Favorite Idiot Parental and Age Rating Guide
Netflix gave the comedy series an age rating of TV-MA. This means it may not be suitable for those under the age of 17. Due to scenes of violence, profanity, and the strong language used by some of the characters, many parents wouldn’t consider it God’s favorite idiot child friendly. Also, some of the characters could be shown smoking cigarettes. Obviously this would not be suitable for younger children to watch. So it looks like you’ll have to watch the comedy series if you have some alone time.
