Is the musical coming to Netflix? (release date)

13: The musical began as a real musical on Broadway in 2008-2009 and is now on its way to Netflix. This is one of the few musicals to be released as a Netflix original film. Belong to the others Tick, tick… BOOM!, Diana The Musicaland Matilda The Musical.

The new family comedy follows 12-year-old Evan Goldman, who has just moved from New York City to a small town in Indiana after his parents divorced. As you can imagine, there is a bit of culture shock.

But with his 13th birthday just around the corner, Evan is determined to figure out the social dynamics at his new school, make some friends, and most importantly, throw a bar mitzvah everyone will remember.

13: The musical Stars Josh Peck, Rhea Perlman, Debra Messing, Eli Golden, Peter Hermann, Michela Luci, Frankie McNellis, Luke Islam and JD McCrary. It was also written by Jason Robert Brown, Dan Elish and Robert Horn, the writers of the Broadway musical. That’s always a good sign.

13: The musical will be released on Netflix on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 12:01 p.m. PT/3:01 p.m. ET. The film is around 90 minutes long, so it’s the perfect length for both kids and adults. Because let’s be honest, even we adults don’t live with long attention spans.

It will be interesting to see how the cast fare in this film version as none of them appeared in the original Broadway show. The original cast included stars like Elizabeth Gillies and Ariana Grande, but sadly, it doesn’t look like anyone from the Broadway cast will be making a cameo.
