Is Sarma Melngailis’ dog Leon still alive?

If you watched Bad vegans on Netflix I’m sure you’re like me and think Sarma Melngailis’ adorable pitbull Leon is the best part. Is Leon still alive? What is his status in 2022? We know he’s not really immortal, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t living his life to the fullest!

Bad Vegan: Fame. Cheat. The escapes. Chronicles of Pure Food and Wine Owner Sarma Melngailis, “Vegan Bernie Madoff” as she is sometimes known. Melngailis claims she cheated and cheated on her ex-husband Anthony Strangis (aka Shane Fox), who convinced her to send him millions of dollars, resulting in her employees not being paid and eventually her restaurants had to close permanently.

A big part of the reason Melngailis loved Anthony was because he told her he could make her dog live forever and that being a fierce dog lover, Melngailis had a crush on him for hooks, leashes, and hooks. sinker.

Bad Vegan: Is Leon Still Alive?

Yes! Leon the pitbull is still alive and well. Netflix TUDUM confirm that the lovable puppy (the real-life breakout star of Bad vegans) is thriving and remains a part of Melngailis’ life. He just celebrated his 12th birthday.

While chatting with TUDUM, Melngailis revealed how she and her dog have been in recent years since it all happened with her ex-husband. She insists having Leon by her side is “well-founded” and helps her reassure herself during moments of extreme anxiety and stress.

Leon has developed a hematoma, which can sometimes manifest in dogs with floppy ears. Thankfully, he underwent surgery to repair it and look better than ever. Some of his favorite dishes include raw sauerkraut and coconut oil…it’s fun.

Oddly enough, he loved the raw sauerkraut and Latvian rye bread that my dad sold me online. He also loves coconut oil. Those are the more unusual things, but he will also go crazy for any delicious meat. (If I’m a bad vegetarian, Leon is a very bad vegan.) In general, he eats a wide variety of foods – I think variety (plus raw sauerkraut) is great for his gut microbiome. (And in case anyone wonders, no, I won’t feed Leon pizza, Dominos or anything!)

Looks like Leon is living a pretty amazing life these days, just like he deserves!
