New Jersey rock band My Chemical Romance first burst onto the music scene in 2001 after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Since then they have released four albums and are credited with helping popularize the emo style of music.

In March 2013, My Chemical Romance shocked fans after announcing their split.
“Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We were able to go places we never knew we would. We got to see and experience things we never thought possible,” the band wrote on their website at the time.
“We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, look up to, and most importantly, our friends. And now, like all great things, it’s time for it to end. Thank you for all your support and for being a part of the adventure.”
Then in 2019 the band announced a long-awaited reunion along with a tour that was later postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.


On May 13, 2022, MCR released a surprise six-minute track, The Foundations Of Decay.
The song comes after an eight-year musical dry spell.
MCR will embark on a world tour starting May 16, 2022.

Who are the members of My Chemical Romance?
MCR was formed in 2001 by frontman Gerard Way, 45, and drummer Matt Pelissier, 45.


Today their line-up consists of Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro, 44, rhythm guitarist Frank Iero, 40, and bassist Mikey Way, 41.
Pelissier was asked by band manager Brian Schecter to leave the band in 2004, but it remains unclear why.
