Is Jinger Duggar Still Talking To Her Parents?

After Jinger Duggar left IBLP, there were rumors that she had become estranged from the rest of the Duggars, particularly their parents.

However, in May 2023, she hinted that she had maintained a positive relationship with them, or at least her mother.

“Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mom! I love you so much,” Jinger wrote in one Instagram post Dedicated to Michelle.

She also shared in an interview with Good morning America that they keep in touch.

On the other hand, there may be reason to believe that their relationship isn’t the same as it was before.

When Jinger, along with her siblings Jill, Jessa and Joy-Anna, sued the city of Springdale for invasion of privacy in 2021, her husband Jeremy Vuolo said in an affidavit that there was “a certain distance” between Jinger and the rest of the Duggars.

“Is there more distance? And obviously there’s more physical distance since you moved to California. Is there a greater emotional distance between Jinger and her parents than before you moved to California?” Jeremy was asked, according to court records obtained by The Sun.

He replied: “Yes – maybe. However, I think it would be difficult to diagnose.”

“I think when you grow up and have your own FamilyKids and life – you know, you go from seeing everyone every day, talking to everyone every day, you know.”

Does Jinger Duggar I still see her Family?

Jinger and Jeremy moved to Los Angeles, California in 2019.

Despite the physical distance to the rest of her family, she is still close to many of her siblings, Jinger said.

“We’ve always had such a close bond between the sisters and that’s why I keep in touch with them a lot because it’s so easy to FaceTime even though I’m so far from them,” she said E! News.

“We still have close ties.”

In an interview with PeopleJinger also said she continues to support her sister-in-law Anna and her children with her older brother Josh Duggar, who has been sentenced to 12 years in prison on child pornography allegations.

“I’m always there for Anna and the kids if they want to talk to them or where I can help and love them.”

“I know they’ve been through so much right now and that’s why I’m always there for them if they need help.”

However, the same cannot be said of her relationship with Josh.

“I don’t feel like talking to him,” Jinger said.

“It’s so heartbreaking to see the decisions my brother Josh made and it breaks my heart for the victims and their families and all that they’ve been through.”

“I pray that one day Josh will truly change and see Christ for who He is and repent.”

Jinger also published a book, Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear, in which she details her experiences growing up in IBLP and her journey to “untangling” its teachings.

“I think the environment I grew up in was very fear-based,” she said entertainment tonight. “It was based on superstition, manipulation and control, and so my view of God was skewed.”

She added that she discussed the book with the Duggars and clarified that it was in no way a tell-all story.

“I reached out to my family and told them I was writing this book,” she said. “It was clear to me that this is not about telling everything about my family. I love my family. I am so thankful that they sacrificed so much for me.”

“This story is my journey of faith and how I wanted to share this story and I also feel an obligation to it for having encouraged it.” [IBLP] Teaching, so I shared that with my family.

Jinger also recognizes that readers may blame Jim Bob and Michelle for what they experienced, but she said they only did what they thought was best.

“They were promised that this would bring success to their children and that God would be so pleased with them. I saw that they cared about that all along and that they were really loving and loyal parents.”
