Olivier Assayas Irma Vep is back, but this time on the small screen in the form of a compelling miniseries starring Alicia Vikander. But is it available on Netflix?

The classic from 1996 Irma Vep starred legendary actress Maggie Cheung, who played an actress struggling to justify her eccentric, middle-aged director’s actions to the crew and journalist as she struggled in the struggling filmmaker’s attempt to remake Louis Feuillade’s classic silent film , starring Les vampires. Now, over two decades later, Assayas has written and directed a new version of the enigmatic tale as a series, starring Vikander in Cheung’s role.

The stellar miniseries also features a stellar lineup of talent including disease actress Adria Arjona, The Sandmanby Tom Sturridge, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Star Fala Chen and Portlandia Creator Carrie Brownstein. The series premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, and since then, the seductive affair has garnered critical acclaim.

The rating the series has achieved on Rotten Tomatoes is nothing short of impressive, and there’s a ton of praise for Vikander’s perfect performance, which isn’t surprising given how many times it’s exceeded expectations in the past.

Is Irma Vep available on Netflix?

Anything starring Vikander is a must watch and many people would love to see their titles on the streamer. According to Irma Vep, the series isn’t available on Netflix, and that’s unlikely to change any time soon.

That doesn’t mean, however, that subscribers won’t find anything worth watching when they sign up to the streaming powerhouse’s platform. Netflix has tons of mesmerizing dramas available to stream right now, including stranger things, The Lincoln Attorney, The Umbrella Academy and Outer Banksjust to name a few.
