FOX News Sunday host Chris Wallace announced Sunday that he is leaving the station after nearly two decades.
Wallace signed a new contract with Fox News in 2017 but has now decided to leave to pursue other endeavors.

Chris Wallace Has hosted Fox News Sunday for the past 18 years but says it’s time to take a step back from politics.
In his announcement, Wallace said he wanted to “try something new, going beyond politics with all the things that interest me.”
The news came on Sunday morning during his performance.
“After 18 years – this is my last Fox News Sunday. That’s the last time – and I say this with real sadness – we’ll see each other like this,” Wallace said at the end of the show.
“Eighteen years ago, the bosses at Fox made a promise to me that they would never interfere with a guest I booked or a question I asked, and they kept that promise,” Wallace said. .
“I’ve been free to report to the best of my ability, to bring out the stories that I think are important, to the leaders of our country. It’s been an amazing trip. “
What is Chris Wallace’s history with Fox News?
Wallace is the son of former 60 Minutes reporter Mike Wallace and first worked for NBC News and ABC News before moving to Fox News Sunday in 2003.
He is known to be a tough interviewer and has gone through five presidential elections and moderated two presidential debates in 2016 and 2020.
“I think the country would be better served if we allowed both of you to speak with less interruption,” Wallace told Trump during the debate.
“I’m calling you, sir, to do it.”
In what was previously known as the interrogation technique, Wallace has said in previous interviews that it is his job to keep politicians honest.
In a 2018 interview with Town & Country Magazine, Wallace said, “I consider my job as a cop catching up, going around with a night stick and trying to keep people honest — Republicans and Democrats alike.”
