Is Bobby Shmurda running for governor?
On February 9, 2022, Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Jean Pollard, started trending after a meme account announced that he was running for governor of New York.
At this point, there is no indication that the rapper plans to run for office.
The joke first started in August 2021 after Andrew Cuomo stepped down.
“Time to replace Cuomo with a true New York icon, that’s why I endorse Bobby Shmurda for NY governor,” one fan wrote at the time.
Another added, “cuomo is over. Now it’s time to make bobby shmurda governor.”
