A NETWORK of glamorous Russian spies working inside the United States has been exposed because it was claimed that there was a “relationship between Elena Branson and Maria Butina”.
Elena Branson, 61 years old, dual US citizen and Russiacharged on March 8 as an agent of a foreign government without notifying US authorities, conspiracy to commit visa fraud, making false statements to the FBI, and failing to register under the Act foreign agent registration.

Branson is now associated with Maria Butinawho was found guilty of serving as an unregistered foreign agent in the US before and after the 2016 presidential election.
She infiltrated several right-wing groups and the National Rifle Association.
Branson gave a Russian TV interview last year, conducted by Butina.
In the interview, Branson confirmed she left the US because she thought there was a “very high chance” she would be arrested if she stayed.
She said 30 FBI agents came to her door “all in uniform, all carrying pistols, wearing bulletproof vests” in September 2020.
“They issued a search warrant and … asked me to go out and search the apartment for a few hours,” she said.
During the search, officials seized 34 electronic devices, including 11 cell phones, from Branson’s home and New York’s Central Russia office in Manhattan, the lawsuit states.
Branson also claimed in the interview that she called Butina shortly after the raid and that the convicted spy helped her find an attorney.
The two women then met in Moscow after Branson fled the United States, it was declared.
In the 2021 interview, Branson also denied espionage charges.
“These are the allegations: agents of a foreign government, conspiracy,” she said. “I don’t know what a foreign spy is, but I don’t engage in any espionage.”
Chapman, then 36 years old, posted a picture of himself with a simple but supportive message: “Fight Masha!”
The women – both red-haired – have been compared for using their charms to infiltrate high places in the West.
