INTER MAILAND are reportedly confident of securing a loan deal with Chelsea to sign Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku, 29, is on loan but Chelsea are demanding a £20million fee to let him go for the season.
That price is believed to be too high for Inter but the Serie A side are hoping for an agreement.
And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano The two clubs are said to be holding talks about a move today.
He tweeted: “Inter and Chelsea have planned a new direct contact for Romelu Lukaku in the coming hours. Inter are confident and are now awaiting the final price from Chelsea.”
New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is reportedly open to talks of a loan move for Lukaku with Inter.
And the two parties have a lot to iron out as the Italian side are unable to pay Lukaku’s entire £325,000 salary.
The Belgian could solve this problem himself as he is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to return to the San Siro.
Lukaku could even cut his wages in half to secure a loan deal and put a torrid year at Chelsea behind him.
Many Blues fans have dubbed the forward ‘the worst transfer ever’ and some supporters are now dying to leave him.

But when Lukaku returned to Stamford Bridge, many fans and pundits were delighted with his arrival.
Many felt he had unfinished business after his disastrous first time at the club and was the missing piece of the puzzle that would make Thomas Tuchel’s secondary title contender.
But from minute one he was at odds with Chelsea’s style of play, complaining about a lack of scoring chances in a now infamous December interview, in which he first revealed his desire to return to Inter.
Lukaku scored eight league goals and lost his spot to Kai Havertz in the second half of the season – leaving Chelsea with little choice but to loan him out.
