Intense moment as the woman is arrested at the man’s bedside after shooting him in the head in the hospital in a failed ‘suicide pact’

CHILLING Bodycam footage showed the arrest of a woman after she allegedly shot and killed her husband in a failed ‘suicide pact’.

The woman was arrested at AdventHealth Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida.
“Drop the gun!” shouted police officers seen in the video from the hospital corridor.
An officer noted that Gilland was spotted “sitting right next to the bed” in her husband’s hospital room.
Meanwhile, another officer was heard trying to speak to Gilland in an attempt to get her to drop the gun.

“Tell me what’s going on. I don’t want to hurt you. We don’t want to hurt you. Tell me what’s going on. Talk to me. Talk to me. What’s going on? Why can’t you drop the gun?”
The standoff lasted four hours before a lightning bolt and taser were used to trick the elderly woman into dropping the gun.
In a news conference on Sunday, Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young said Gilland was “in a depressed state” due to her husband’s terminal illness and “knew the end was near” when she allegedly shot him.
“They had a conversation about it, and they actually planned that about three weeks ago that if he continued to take a turn for the worse, he wanted her to end it,” Young said.
Young added that the goal was for Gilland’s husband to pull the trigger, but “he didn’t have the strength, so she had to execute it.”
The couple struck a murder-suicide pact, but Young said Gilland decided she couldn’t go through with it.
Hospital workers heard the gunshot wound and saw Gilland sitting by the bed while her husband lay in a pool of blood.
According to a police report, she pointed the gun at the workers and told them to leave.
Adjacent rooms were evacuated by staff in what police described as a “logistical nightmare” as most of the patients on the 11th floor – where Gilland and her husband were – were on ventilators.
Gilland was also charged with two aggressive attacks with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
She remained in prison without a bond.
“It’s a tragic circumstance,” Young said. “Because it just goes to show that none of us are immune to the trials and tribulations of life.”
