Insights into the tragic life of Loni Willison

To the outside world, she was living the “perfect life” while married to a wealthy Hollywood star and gracing the covers of fitness magazines.
But it wasn’t what it seemed and now ex-swimwear model Loni Willison, 38, has been snapped lugging her worldly possessions in a shopping trolley after being homeless for several years.
A messy divorce ensued Baywatch Actor Jeremy Jackson eight years ago and disclosed drug and alcohol abuse, which she denied.
Loni is now unrecognizable from her glamorous blonde snaps as she walked the streets puffing on a cigarette and rummaging through the bins for food.
The images show the model’s tragic rapid demise after losing her job and home and shunning offers of help.
She once heartbreakingly claimed that she made herself look as dirty as possible to avoid being sexually abused on the street.
Two years ago she told The Sun: “I can live on my own. I have everything I need here. Nobody really cares about me and I don’t want to see them, they don’t want to see me.”
Drunk rows and alleged assault
When Loni and Jeremy tied the knot on a California beach in 2012, dressed in white and flanked by their snow-white dog, the duo looked like the ultimate Hollywood couple.
California native Jeremy, now 41, rose to fame at age 11 as Hobie Buchanan, the son of David Hasselhoff’s lifeguard Mitch, and continued to play the role until he was 18, before quitting in 1999.
Loni, also from California, was the stunning model who graced the covers of fitness magazines in skimpy gym clothes and swimsuits.
Rounds of red carpet appearances followed and they seemed madly in love.
But Jeremy, a former child star, already had a history of drug addiction that began while he was a teenager at Baywatch.
He was arrested at 19 for making methamphetamine, served 90 days in jail for possession and completed five stints in rehab.
While they looked like the perfect couple from the outside, the picture behind closed doors was far from rosy.
The marriage ended in alcohol-fueled altercations and in August 2014 police were called to their home after Jeremy allegedly assaulted Loni.
She later claimed he strangled and beat her, leaving her with two broken ribs, an injured neck and scratches on her face and body, but she chose not to press charges.
The couple split right after the alleged assault, which she only revealed after her ex walked into Celebrity Big Brother’s home a year later in 2015.
But it signaled the start of Loni’s mental health issues and a downward spiral.
“It took me over two months to fully recover,” she said.
“I ended up having to quit my job as a plastic surgeon’s assistant and I couldn’t train or take modeling jobs.
“I didn’t go out with friends or do anything — I was in a very bad place.”
Allegations of “torture by electrocution” in her own home
When her ex was kicked out of CBB for exposing Chloe Goodman’s boobs, she urged her to file a complaint “for his own good”.
“I didn’t report him when he attacked me because I was scared,” she added. “I was in a bad place emotionally and I didn’t want Jeremy to go to jail.
“Now at least everyone can see what I had to endure.”
But losing her job at the cosmetic surgery company after the 2014 split was the first of several blows as her lifespan spiraled out of control.
She suffered a nervous breakdown, which left her unable to work.
Due to her lack of money, she got into debt, lost her rented apartment in 2016 and could no longer afford her car.
Finding herself on the streets, she developed an addiction to crystal meth and her mental health deteriorated.
In a 2018 interview, she claimed to have been electrocuted at her former home and said she believes her body is so charged with electricity that it poses a danger to others.
“I was tortured in my house, my apartment,” Loni said Daily Mail. “I lived alone, but I was electrocuted.
“It was really bad, really terrible. I later found a red spot on my neck and I think that’s how the electricity got into my head.”
She said she tried talking to friends but “made an effort to get across to them what I was talking about, so I just stopped talking to everyone.”
Loni also claimed she saw Jeremy standing outside her apartment while she was “tortured”.
She said her “charge” meant she would bring down buildings where she slept – and the only thing that could stop that was taking drugs.
At the time, Loni added that life on the street was “survival of the fittest” and she hadn’t showered in over a year to avoid abuse.
“I get robbed all the time. People take my things,’ she said.
“I basically make myself as dirty as possible so that nobody attacks me.
“The dirtier I am, the better. Also smelly. When I do these two things it seems to work.
“I also cut my hair off to look different. I cut it myself. But I was attacked, that has to happen too.”
Disappeared after buddy offered help
After she was first photographed sleeping under a shopping cart, Loni’s model friend Kristin Rossetti tracked her down and took her to a hotel for the night, where she gave her fresh clothes and a hot meal.
But after talking all night, Loni turned down her friend’s offer to pay for rehab and fled, disappearing for two years and leaving friends worried for her safety.
“Loni urgently needs our help, she needs to be taken off the streets and taken care of,” Kristen said at the time.
“It makes me so sad, but you can’t force someone to accept their help, they have to want to help themselves.”
Loni finally resurfaced in October 2020digging through trash cans near Venice Beach to find clothes and food.
Her once stunning looks have been ravaged by addiction and she has lost several teeth.
She was yards from celebrities’ mansions, including Ben Affleck’s £5million home.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I haven’t spoken to Jeremy. I don’t want to talk to my friends, I’m fine. I don’t want anyone to help me.”
She added: “I don’t have a cell phone. I have food and I have a place to sleep. I get money here and there, and there’s food in the bins and near the shops. There is a lot here.”
Hundreds of destitute Americans live in tents on or near Venice Beach, and the situation has worsened since the pandemic began.
He didn’t do anything. It was worth nothing to him. He didn’t give up. It was horrible, disgusting
Cindy Kovacs, Jeremy Jackson’s ex
Portable toilets and water stations have been set up to help the homeless.
In the latest tragic pictures, Loni can be seen munching on a pizza she found in a trash can and sharing it with a nearby squirrel.
Dressed in long socks, fishnet tights and a denim jacket, the former model pulls a cart full of clothes and bedding behind her.
While Loni still battles her addiction, her ex-husband, now 41, manages to stay clean and is now a leading figure in the LA fitness scene, posting muscle-bound pics on his Instagram page.
He has declined to comment on his ex-wife’s plight when asked on previous occasions, but another ex, Cindy Kovacs, slammed the actor for refusing to help Loni after their split in 2014 .
She told the Sun: “It’s really sad what happened to Loni and she never got the help she needs.
“He didn’t do anything. It was worth nothing to him. He didn’t give up. It was horrible, disgusting.”
The new pictures will bring heartache to pals like Kristen who are still looking after the former glamor girl.
Let’s hope they result in Loni getting the help she so desperately needs.
