Just 10 minutes before the crime, Nipsey Hussle got into an argument with his alleged killer, Eric Holder famous Los Angeles The rapper was shot dead in a parking lot, according to a friend.
Court documents released on Thursday revealed that Nipsey, who was tragically killed in 2019, died before the deadly shooting on March 31.
A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge on Thursday released more than 500 pages of grand jury testimony, including the ordering of events that occurred on the day Nipsey died.
Nipsey, 33, born Ermias Davidson Asghedom, was gunned down outside his Marathon clothing store in south LA.
During Wednesday’s court hearing, Nipsey’s close friend Herman Douglas testified that a conversation took place between the rapper and his alleged killer prior to the fatal shooting.
According to the New York Post, Douglas testified: “[Hussle] told him from friend to friend, ‘I heard paperwork floating around.’
“He said, ‘If you don’t say anything, you have to take care of it. You just caught a case – we need to know your records!’”
Before a grand jury, Assistant District Attorney John McKinney said Nipsey was approached by Holder before the two spoke briefly.
According to court transcripts, McKinney said, “Apparently the conversation had something to do with it [Hussle] Telling Mr. Holder that word on the street was that Mr. Holder was sniffing.”
McKinney noted that snitching among gang members is highly offensive, reports Reuters.
Douglas said Wednesday that he, along with Nipsey and Holder, are all members of a street gang called the South Los Angeles Rollin 60s Crips.
However, Douglas claimed he was no longer involved as a member of the gang.
Douglas also testified that Holder didn’t seem upset when Nispey spoke about the alleged “snitching.”
However, Douglas testified that he heard Holder denounce the rumors as “bulls**t” and claimed that people “hated me.”
He said in his statement how Nipsey and Holder shook hands after the conversation.
After the “sniffing talk,” Nipsey’s suspected killer left the scene in a vehicle and returned shortly after to shoot the rapper, court documents say, media reports.
Douglas said the fatal shooting happened 10 minutes after Nipsey and Holder ended their conversation.
Graphic details emerge
Nipsey’s alleged killer reportedly kicked the rapper in the head as his bullet-riddled body lay on the parking lot floor.
Prosecutors argued that Holder’s kick to Nipsey’s head showed the March 2019 assault was personal.
The grim details were revealed Wednesday in a Los Angeles courtroom as the trial of Nipsey’s alleged killer began.
Assistant District Attorney John McKinney told jurors that after opening fire, Holder went to Nipsey and told him, “You’re done.”
Prosecutors said Nipsey replied, “You got me,” before Holder walked away from the scene.
After the shooting, Nipsey was taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to his head and torso – where he eventually died from his injuries.
Holder was arrested days after the shooting and charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a criminal.
The suspect is being held in solitary confinement for fear of being killed by other inmates.
