He suffered from recurrent cases of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Wrestlers are at risk for this infection due to frequent skin-to-skin contact.

Matt Hardy, half of legendary tag duo The Hardy Boyz, commented: “I’m not close to Jimmy Rave, but I was able to work with him on a couple of occasions. He is a kind, bright, talented young man.

“I was very sad to hear of his passing, especially since he was so young and had a wife and children. I hope your soul finds peace, Jimmy. ”
