Inside Lindsay Clancy’s horrific injuries as she remains in hospital after “killing three kids and jumping out the window”.

A tortured mother who is said to have killed her three children is still recovering from her horrific injuries after jumping 20ft out of a window.

Massachusetts midwife Lindsay Clancy remains hospitalized amid a deadly battle with postpartum psychosis, her defense attorney said.

On January 24, Clancy’s husband Patrick discovered his wife with serious injuries outside their Duxbury home after he went to pick up dinner, prosecutors say.

A haunting 911 call shows she reportedly cut her throat before throwing herself from the home, the New York Post reports.

She is said to have attempted suicide after strangling her children Cora, five, Dawson, three, and seven-month-old baby Callan with exercise bands.

Clancy now faces two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of strangulation and asphyxiation, and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

The ailing mother is also expected to face charges related to the death of her youngest.

At a preliminary hearing, her defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, revealed gruesome details about her injuries and claimed she is unlikely to walk again.

An email from Clancy’s trauma surgeon said she suffered severe spinal fractures and could not feel anything below her belly button, according to court documents seen by CT Insider.

Clancy also sustained fractures to her ribs and cervical spine, which “necessitate wearing a collar around her neck to prevent further injury,” the email said.

The mother and nurse will require intensive rehabilitation so that she can learn to care for herself and primarily use her upper body while confined to a wheelchair.

“She is nearing discharge from the hospital but will continue to have extensive rehabilitation needs,” the surgeon said in early February.

However, almost a month later, Reddington confirmed to The US Sun that she remains in hospital.

She made her first appearance in court in the hospital via Zoom.

Clancy was seen lying in bed with a mask and only spoke when spoken to by the judge.

The mother’s story has sparked a national conversation about the importance of postpartum mental health, as dozens of women have expressed their support for the mother, who was described as “generously loving” by her heartbroken husband.

Former employees and friends wrote dozens of letters saying that “any one of us could have been” Lindsay and grieving her anxiety, which she has been vocal about on social media.

Reddington claimed his client was battling intensely with psychosis, pointing out that she remained in a psychiatric facility for three weeks prior to the alleged crime.

The defense attorney claimed she acted like a “zombie” after being “overmedicated” with around a dozen prescriptions.

These included Prozac and Seroquel, which allegedly gave her side effects like “homicidal and suicidal thoughts.”

Heartbreaking photos from Fox News Digital show the backyard of Clancy’s home where the tragedy occurred, littered with the children’s toys.

The devastating images match Reddington’s description of his client, who kept little reminders of her beloved children around the house.

“Photos, small drawings, all kinds of games, toys, playpens, bassinet in the living room and dining room hang on the wall,” said the defender.

“The kitchen was full of toys. Virtually her entire house, including her master bedroom, had toys and stuff for the kids.”

A statement released by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says Clancy’s bail status will be addressed once she is released from the hospital.

She is scheduled to appear in court on May 2nd.
