Reed shot to fame when she began documenting her journey in 2016 with her husband, Danny.

The couple began their weight loss adventure after a friend challenged them to cut out soda, alcohol, takeout and cheats, says Reed Everyone in a 2018 interview.

“We started cooking, preparing meals, tracking calories and reading nutrition labels.”

Over a two-year period, the two lost a total of 407 pounds. The reed alone lost 312 pounds.

THIRD CONVERT

In 2019, Reed has experienced skin removal surgery to get rid of excess skin.

She shared two photos on her Instagram page in a “Conversion Tuesday” post, detailing before and after the surgery.

“Both photos have scars, but both are beautiful wounds from a hellish battle,” she wrote on Instagram.

“From losing 312 lbs. to have 7 lbs. Skin is removed in a nine-hour surgery, each step worth the fight to give this body the care it needs.

“Both girls are strong and I love myself at every stage of my journey, especially the girl who was strong enough to begin with.”

Reed also includes words of encouragement and motivation in her post.

“We all have skin, wrinkles, stretch marks and cellulite, but that shouldn’t stop us from living or define who we are.

“Don’t let such a small thing become such a big excuse.

“Love yourself every chapter of your journey, the skin you are in and speak nicely to yourself because you are always listening!”

‘YOU MAY DIE’

On February 10, a post was shared by her husband, Danny, on Reed’s Instagram.

Reed appears to have fallen ill and has been hospitalized since January 20.

The photo shows Reed lying on a hospital bed connected to a ventilator.

“Sorry for the late update but I (@discovereddanny and family) are focused on getting Lexi back to health,” the caption began.

“A few weeks ago Lexi was constantly sick and couldn’t keep food down.

“Then she started acting differently so I took her to the hospital where they admitted her to the ICU, treated with medication. [coma]on a ventilator, and I think her organs started to fail.

“They also told me if I had waited, she would have died.

“She is currently on dialysis, unable to walk and is in the process of recovering.”

‘BE HEALTHY’

A few days before admission, Reed shared a Upbeat update for her followers.

“I don’t know about you but after last year I’m ready to get back on track, healthy and to see some change + progress!” Lexi wrote on January 2.

However, fans soon learned of her bad health through her husband’s updates.

While it’s still unclear what, if any, medical problems Reed may have as a result of her excessive weight loss, Danny notes that this is “not medically related.”

“Getting her back to health is our top priority.”

According to Danny, Reed has been discharged from the hospital and is doing physical therapy at home.

He also noted that the couple had no health insurance and that they were “currently waiting to learn about kidney and liver transplants.”

As a result, he created a GoFundMe page to assist with mounting invoices.

Currently, the site has raised more than $40,000 of its $200,000 goal.

“Thanks for all of your prayers, it all means a lot to us and this will be a long, hard fight part of her story but she’s so strong!” , GoFundMe’s description says.

“Anything will help us and we’re happy to still have her in our lives!”
