Inside Cooper Rush’s relationship with wife Lauryn after she married and welcomed a baby daughter during a pandemic

PATIENCE has paid off more than once for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush.

The 28-year-old had to wait until his sixth NFL season to get his shot, and so far he’s walked with it.

After going 4-0 as a starter this season following Dak Prescott’s thumb injury, Rush now sits 5-0 as a starter in the league, including his only start last season.

And that patience not only earned him his starting job in Dallas, but also his family.

While Cooper and his wife Lauryn both attended Central Michigan, it wasn’t until after graduation that their paths crossed when they met in their hometown of Chicago in 2017, at Sportskeeda.

The two got engaged just two years later, followed a year later by a pandemic ceremony, which they organized in just two and a half weeks, according to their Instagram profile.

But the short timeframe they had to plan the wedding wasn’t the only difficulty she faced in connection with her pandemic nuptials.

Lauryn also admitted to feeling guilty in an Instagram post, writing, “How could Cooper and I have such a happy day of celebration and love when so many crazy and horrible things are going on in this world?”

“We are still in a pandemic. We fight against social injustice. Millions are unemployed. Many have died (including loved ones). So how could WE be so happy!?

“But for this moment everything was perfect and we were able to focus on what we’ve been waiting for – starting our lives as husband and wife together with our immediate families (and thanks to @joeboe4, some voted from the comfort of their couches).

“This does not mean that we have forgotten everything that is happening around us, but have instead tried to use this day as a moment of peace for our families and ourselves, who have experienced so much heartbreak and the unknown.

“In these trying times, my advice to you is to try to find a little piece of happiness and have patience, love and understanding for one another.”

Luckily, they were able to enjoy their special day, and the Rush family had more exciting news the following year when they announced the arrival of baby Ayla.

And then came more exciting news this September when they announced they were expecting their second child.

Mum-to-be Lauryn, 30, is a home technician and received her certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, according to her Instagram profile.

Sportskeeda reported that she previously worked as an accountant and as an advertising salesman.

Lauryn is also an avid runner and can often cheer for Cooper at Cowboys games.
