Inside Chaya Raichik’s bizarre career journey from real estate agent to the “anti-wake” libs of TikTok fame

WITH more than 2 million followers on Twitter, Chaya Raichik has quickly become a prominent right-wing figure, even earning the support of former President Donald Trump.

In late 2020, Raichik, then a real estate agent living in Brooklyn, New York, created a personal Twitter account.

After several name and gimmick changes, Raichik finally changed her Twitter handle to @LibsOfTikTok in April 2021.

In that regard, Raichik has reposted TikTok content from leftist and LGBTQ+ creators with derisive comments, often using words like “disturbed” and “unhinged” to describe them.

Just months later, Libs of TikTok was promoted by Joe Rogan to his millions of listeners on his podcast, calling it “one of the greatest fucking accounts of all time.”

Raichik’s following grew immensely and cemented itself in right-wing media spaces.

However, Raichik’s commentary on the LGBTQ+ community grew more intense – at one point he urged any teacher who comes out as gay to their students to “shot on the spot.”

Raichik also tweeted rhetoric that could be described as anti-transgender as she urged her followers to contact schools that allegedly “allowed boys to be in the girls’ restrooms.”

She claimed that teachers who teach LGBTQ+ identities are “abusive” and associate transgender people or a community ally with “mentally ill.”

IDENTITY REVEALED

During this time, Raichik had remained anonymous as her name was not linked to the Libs of TikTok account.

However, Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz reported her identity in April 2022 — a year after Raichik began using the name Libs of TikTok.

Raichik claimed Lorenz “doxxed” her, however many social media pundits argued that given Raichik’s influence on public discourse, the public should have a significant interest in knowing who is behind the account.

Ever since her identity became public, Raichik claimed she has received death threats and a warning that a pipe bomb would be thrown into her home.

Still, Raichik wasn’t put off by her public appearance when she was disgraceful tweeted about transgender health at Boston Children’s Hospital in August 2022.

Raichik claimed the hospital offered “gender-affirming hysterectomies” to minors.

The hospital and medical staff later said they received threats, including multiple bomb threats.

A statement from the hospital said Raichik’s tweets were “fueled by misinformation and a lack of understanding and respect,” adding that hysterectomies, as part of gender-affirming care, are not performed on patients under the age of 18.

Raichik has also caught the attention of new Twitter CEO Elon Musk, who liked one of her tweets back in April after she shared an article from The Babylon Bee – a satirical conservative Christian website.

In November of that year, Raichik shared a tweet mocking a former Twitter employee who had been fired by Musk.

The Tesla CEO answeredand called the former employee “a tragic case of Tourette’s in adulthood.”

Libs of TikTok has been temporarily suspended five times for “hateful behavior” and alleged violence, threats, or harassment “against others because of their sexual orientation or other factors such as race or gender.”

However, since Musk took over as CEO in October 2022, Raichik’s account has not received any bans.

‘NEXT STEP’

Raichik first showed her face on the December 27 episode of Tucker Carlson Today, where she stated that she wanted to start hosting in-person events.

She told Carlson she was “ready for the next step.”

Raichik has also ventured into the writing field, writing her first children’s picture book, No More Secrets: The Candy Cavern.

The book is described as “a modern twist on the well-known Grimm-style fairy tale.”

Recently, Raichik and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez clashed on Capitol Hill.

Raichik claimed she served an ethics complaint on Ocasio-Cortez during a committee hearing on Feb. 8 for “lying” about her.

Ocasio-Cortez spoke to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee about Raichik’s anti-Boston Children’s Hospital tweets, calling them “false information.”

Raichik and the conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation, filed a complaint against Ocasio-Cortez, alleging that she violated ethical rules by “knowingly and intentionally using Chaya Raichik, the creator of the Libs of TikTok viral account, defamed and falsely accused them of lying and spreading disinformation…”

In a video shot by Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, Raichik appears to be posing for a photo with Ocasio-Cortez – who at the moment doesn’t know who Raichik is.

Raichik then tells Ocasio-Cortez that she just filed an ethics complaint at her office.

Ocasio-Cortez quickly interrupts Raichik: “You’re actually super transphobic and I never want to share a room with you,” she says.

Before walking away, Ocasio-Cortez gives the camera a quick “thank you.”

Raichik went to twittercalling Ocasio-Cortez “a coward”.
