Inside Charlie Newling’s troubled life, from the “Bachelorette” star’s battle with alcohol addiction to his father’s tragic overdose

Reality TV star Charlie Newling led a difficult life before his tragic death at the age of 36.
The builder who appeared on The Bachelorette Australia In 2018, he was found dead after his car fell off a 230-foot cliff in Sydney.
Rescue workers rushed to the scene of the accident on Saturday evening and found his car engulfed in flames at the foot of the cliff. Daily Mail Australia Reports.
Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious.
Charlie is said to have given birth to a baby girl with his partner Kristal Taylor just eight weeks ago – and also has a 13-year-old son from a previous relationship.
Charlie was an instant frontrunner on Ali Oetjen’s season of The Bachelorette.


But the TV star had a difficult upbringing – and later struggled with alcohol abuse.
Just two days after his exit from The Bachelorette, footage emerged of him being wrestled to the ground outside a popular Sydney pub.
Charlie said he had been drinking and celebrating his time on the show with friends when a scuffle broke out with bouncers.
After the incident, it was revealed that he had a son from a previous relationship.

Charlie kept a low profile until September last year, when he was charged with threatening to torture and kill his stepfather.
During the trial, Charlie’s lawyer said his client had struggled with alcohol abuse.
Charlie sent a series of 37 text messages in three hours.
“You are still being controlled by this abusive husband,” one message to his mother said.
“I will kill him in front of you one day before I leave.”
“You have no idea what I’m capable of, but you just know it won’t be pretty.”
The judge acknowledged that Charlie had suffered childhood trauma after caring for his father as a teenager after he was in an accident and became a paraplegic.
His father tragically died of an overdose in 2018.
Charlie spent a month in custody and served the remainder of his 13-month sentence in the community.
He had already been convicted of drunk driving in 2021.
Charlie came fourth on the 2018 Bachelorette season.
He was nicknamed “Mr Perfect” by Channel 10 viewers because he boasted of his strong “family values”.
Charlie’s Bachelorette co-star Danny Harris-Wolf reacted to his tragic death on Instagram, writing, “Oh my God, Charlie was a decent guy to me.”


After the show, Charlie dated Dasha Gaivoronski from the Honey Badger season of The Bachelor and began a romance with influencer Esme DeWitt in 2019.
He has been in a relationship with Kristal since 2021.
