Inside Baker Mayfield’s relationship with his wife Emily with the NFL quarterback while moving to the Los Angeles Rams

DESPITE a tough season, Baker Mayfield’s wife Emily remains ‘a proud wife’.

It’s been a rough year for Baker, 27, who started it by asking to be traded by the Cleveland Browns and ended up becoming a Carolina Panther before being fired and going to the Los Angeles Rams.

Baker will be hoping this move to the West Coast, joining forces with offensive guru and Rams head coach Sean McVay, can be the spark he needs to reignite his faltering NFL career.

And to celebrate his recent move, his beloved wife Emily was in attendance.

Speaking on her Instagram story, Emily said: “I am so grateful for our time in Charlotte. I met some REALLY amazing people and fell in love with an amazing city. You will surely see more of us CLT!

“As for LA… I’m ready for you! It’s been too long I’m a PROUD girl from Nebraska, but LA certainly holds a part of my heart too. It will be good to be back!

“And finally, Bake, I’m a proud wife’s child! It has been the strangest, most confusing, most challenging, and most profound year of my life. But the most important thing is that we made it together and with God at our center.

“I’m really proud of where we are and where we’re going. Grateful for the man you are today and for how you deal with adversity with nothing but grace! I can’t wait to cheer for you at number 17! Go Rams! “

Baker’s NFL journey began in 2018.

Drafted first overall from Oklahoma after winning the Heisman Trophy by the Browns in 2017, Baker’s career got off to a strong start.

After two losing seasons, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team and led the Browns to the playoffs for the first time since 2002 in 2020.

However, after a disappointing 2021 season, the Browns entered the hunt for high-priced quarterback Deshaun Watson after he applied for a trade with the Houston Texans.

After being acquired by Watson in March 2022, Mayfield filed for a trade, eventually ending up in Carolina in exchange for a conditional fifth-round election.

Unfortunately, Baker, despite initially beating former first-round teammate Sam Darnold in the starting roll, fell later in the season from a high ankle sprain.

After his release, Baker was claimed by the Rams.

By his side through all the ups and downs was his wife Emily.

A 2013 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Emily, 31, is a relatively private person.

With her social media profiles set to private, little is known about her or the couple’s personal life.

What is known is that, according to Us Magazine, prior to Baker’s call-up, Emily worked as a patient coordinator for a plastic surgery clinic in Los Angeles.

Since then, per Players Bio, she has promoted products and modeled clothes for various brands.

Emily has also acted in progressive commercials alongside Baker.

The couple reportedly met through mutual friends in 2017 and eventually married in 2019.

They enjoyed a beautiful outdoor wedding, with Baker captioning the photos: “The Mayfields… Last week was a lifetime dream. Incredible day surrounded by family and friends. Excited to begin the next chapter of our journey together @ewilkinson love you Em Lou.”
