A TV preacher’s sadistic sex cult surveyor says she was made to have nose surgery without anesthesia.
Turkish broadcaster Adnan Oktar, 64, has been jailed for 1,075 years for a series of horrific crimes.
He’s built a devoted group of brainwashed followers over the decades, while living a lavish life surrounded by glamorous women he calls “kittens” while young male followers are his “lion”.
He was ultimately found guilty of ten separate counts including leading a criminal gang, sexually abusing a minor, sexually abusing and engaging in political or military espionage.
From rape allegations – with members reportedly even keeping ‘transcripts’ – to horrifying claims about women being forced to take birth control pills after being assaulted, former members have paint a grim picture in court.
Now, several people who have lived with Okta have shed light on the feeling of being pulled under his thumb about the dark extent of his cult’s inner workings.
Seda Isildar was a teenager in high school when her friends introduced her to Oktar and his team but she learned who he was after seeing him on the cover of a local news publication, Sunday Times reported.
Now 50 and living in Canada, Seda says: “They tell you you’re special. You’re different from the rest of the herd. You’re 15 and you just don’t want to spoil it for everyone else. .”
“You’re part of that group. And they isolate you? It’s like a toxic relationship.”
She believes Oktar represents a modernized version of Islam, the thrill of being a part of it – until he sexually abuses her.
Seda said that as a schoolgirl, she was forced to marry him, when he was 30 years old.
‘CHISEL MY NOSE’
Her distress escalated from emotional to physical when she was forced to have her nose done at the age of 20 without the need for general anesthesia.
She can still remember the hammer they used to hit her in the face.
“It’s horrible. I’m counting how many times they hammered and chiseled my nose,” said Seda.
It took eight years before she was able to escape and start a new life in Canada.
Oktar first emerged in the 1990s, as the head of the Foundation for Scientific Research (or, in Turkish, Bilim Araştırma Vakfı or BAV).
It focuses on scientific activities “targeting the public’s perception of what the real underlying causes of political and social conflicts are”.
However, it was his TV channel A9 which started airing in 2011 that really made him a household name around the world.
Videos uploaded online regularly show him giving creationist teachings while surrounded by his “kittens”.
‘how to attract women’
Ceylan Ozgul is 24 years old and was in her third year at Istanbul University when she became involved with the Oktar sect.
She said she was slowly attracted but as her role in the group grew, so did they.
The former “kitten” became one of the most prominent members of the group, appearing regularly on Oktar’s TV channel, where a woman can be seen gazing at him while caring. pay attention to his every move, but his intensity is not so obvious at the start.
She said it was a slow and gradual evolution to get stuck in his world.
She said: “He’s, you know, quite fun to talk to him. He’s like an old man who will take you very seriously and talk about history, physics, medicine. I like it. spend time with him.”
But as she became more involved, her role in the group increased as they did, and she says she soon became trapped in an environment where her movements and communications were slurred. monitor.
She said: “It doesn’t happen overnight. It’s been over a year. Even stupid things start to mean to you after a year, because you’re thinking that’s the thing. normally, everyone around you is doing it”.
“The only image in people’s minds of Adnan Oktar is girls in bikinis or revealing clothes and dancing.
“Unfortunately, this makes the subject really light. But it’s not one to be taken lightly. It’s really about how to enslave women and young men.”
Another former member had previously made shocking statements in court, according to Daily Sabah – it was reported that some members would join a system called a “turnike” (or turnstile) where new women joining the group had to have sex with men in the organization.
The news outlet quoted the former member as saying in court: “They’ve got a scorecard, and the members will be elected ‘champions’ of the week, day or month based on the number of women they’ve had sex with. sex.
“People with fewer rapes are accused of being gay.”
There is no suggestion that any of the women pictured are involved in any of the allegations against him.
