THIS is the $2.5 million Los Angeles mansion where an alleged TikTok “cult” is filming its hit dance videos.
Images from The Sun show the interior of the five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms property where Shekinah Church pastor Robert Shinn and his son Isaiah appear to live.
Shinn, 63, has been hit by online claims that he runs a “cult” that recruits and brainwashes top dancers through his production and management company 7M Films.
He and 7M vehemently deny the allegations, which they say are “wildly offensive and fraught with inaccuracies.”
The custom-built 5,200-square-foot Studio City home where Shinn and his son appear to live was used as the backdrop for the slick dance clips they produce.
According to an online listing, it features a “luxurious master suite with a fireplace and gigantic walk-in closet” and a kitchen with Carrara marble countertops.
The listing adds: “The large and bright family room has a wine cooler with independent climate control, a large fireplace and direct access to the outdoor patio with pool/spa and BBQ area.”
Lots of hits tick tock Videos recorded with the 7M function Dancers perform in front of the doors leading to the terrace and pool area.
The allegations surrounding 7M first surfaced after TikTok star Miranda Derrick’s family, 25, claimed in an online viral video that she was recruited by 7M and cut off by them.
They say she later married her now husband James Derrick – who also works with 7M – without telling them or inviting them to the wedding.
The Wilking family claims they first became estranged from Miranda in January 2021 after she refused to go to her grandfather’s funeral.
In a tearful denunciation, Miranda’s sister, Melanie, and parents, Dean and Kelly Wilking, said of 7M’s recruits, “You have no control over their lives – someone else controls their lives and they are all victims of it.”
Miranda and her husband James Derrick have both denied claims – now reported by multiple news outlets but not yet conclusively substantiated – that they are part of a “cult”.
Meanwhile, Samantha Long, a dancer who claims to be a friend of Miranda’s husband James Derrick, is well known tick tock as B-Dash – also spoke online about how he has reportedly changed since joining 7M.
Long said that James looked “like a robot” the last time she spoke to him.
Shinn was before sued by former church member Lydia Chung in 2009 for allegedly separating her from her family, brainwashing her and cheating her out of nearly $4 million.
He and other defendants reportedly prevailed in court against all claims in the lawsuit.
Chung claimed Shinn was described online as “a former doctor who successfully practiced medicine for seven years before God spoke to him and placed him in the ministry full-time.”
She also alleged in the failed lawsuit that Shinn and others at the Shekinah Church forfeited at least $3.8 million of her property and funds after she joined the church in 2000.
The lawsuit, which was reportedly dismissed after a court hearing, reads, “The defendants used undue influence, mind control, coercive persuasion, repression and other intimidating tactics in the name of ‘opening and honesty to God’ in order to intimidate plaintiff Lydia Chung to give up all of their personal financial information and give them control over it.”
Some reports suggest that the Shekinah Church may sign the “Seven Mountains Mandate” followed by some Pentecostal and Charismatic churches in preparation for the end of days.
Attorneys working for Shinn and 7M denied that the church believes in or promotes the Seven Mountains Mandate, claiming that the “M” in 7M’s name stands for “Millennium.”
The Seven Mountains Mandate states that in order to bring about the second coming of Christ, believers must work to influence religion, family, education, government, media, arts, entertainment, and business.
The Shekinah Church website states: “We are called vigorously to train God’s people to develop the fruitage of the Spirit, which are divine attributes of God Himself, so that they may truly encounter God in the deepest way.
“That’s the only way to deal with all the success and prosperity properly.
“We are called to be doers of the word. That is why we are called to be givers.
“We are dedicated and committed daily to giving into the kingdom of God.
“We have committed our lives to sowing TEMP (Time, Effort, Money, and Prayer) seeds each day to bring the entire family of God into His glorious house.”
Shinn was spotted in exclusive pictures from The Sun last week driving a Bentley SUVattended a gym in Burbank and went to an upscale Woodland Hills for lunch restaurant with his wife Hannah and two friends.
He declined to comment when approached by The Sun at the home he appears to live in in Studio City.
A statement from attorneys representing him and 7M Films said: “The false and sensational allegations about 7M stem directly from a dispute between 7M-represented dancer Miranda Derrick and her estranged family.
“Despite the demands of her family, Miranda is a successful businesswoman and a loving wife and daughter who care deeply about her family.
“It is pathetic and despicable to attempt to turn her private family affairs into a cheesy public scandal for clicks and clout.
“While recent accounts from Dr. Robert Shinn and 7M Films were highly offensive and fraught with inaccuracies, these false claims will not deter 7M from assisting Miranda in her next endeavor.”
