LIONEL MESSI scored a sensational last-minute free-kick as Paris Saint-Germain swept past Lille 4-3 in a thriller.
And eagle-eyed fans can’t believe the Argentine didn’t injure his ankle in the process.
As Messi hit the ball with his left boot, still images show his right ankle appearing to plant into the ground at a terrible angle.
Regardless, the 35-year-old appeared to emerge from the alarming moment unscathed, driving away to celebrate his incredible late winner.
One fan commented on Messi, writing: “Biggest ankle ever.”
A second joked: “I don’t think that’s a technique, I think it’s a rolled ankle.”
Another added: “My ankle would have been broken a long time ago lol.”
Unfortunately, Messi’s teammate Neymar picked up an ankle injury during the game.
The Brazilian had to be carried on a stretcher in the second half after banging his ankle on the pitch.
PSG manager Christophe Galtier confirmed after the game that Neymar sprained his ankle… but there was no break.

The 31-year-old hopes to be out for just under three weeks and is reportedly aiming for the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Bayern Munich to return.
Early in the game, Neymar had given his side a 2-0 lead and delivered a decent finish after Kylian Mbappe had already grabbed PSG’s first.
However, Lille came back, Bafode Diakite making it 2-1.
Jonathan David equalized from the penalty spot just minutes after Neymar’s injury – and Jonathan Bamba completed the comeback in impressive style to take a 3-2 lead.
However, Mbappe equalized in the 87th minute before Messi broke Lille’s hearts with his brilliant moment in the 95th minute.
The win kept PSG five points clear at the top ahead of a delicious trip to second-placed rivals Marseille next weekend.
