Neighbors had to evacuate their homes at 6:55 a.m. Friday, Manchester Evening News reported.

One evacuee said: “There was a big bang, to be honest, it was like an explosion.”

Police and five fire engines were deployed to ensure the safety of locals and keep the blaze under control.

Residents of nearby houses took shelter in a preschool near their home.

Businesses and homes were without power while the fire was extinguished.

A neighbor said: “The explosion was so loud, it felt like shaking the whole house, and before I realized it, there were red and green lights everywhere.

“It’s the last thing you expect to wake up to.”

Another said: “I don’t remember hearing it but it definitely woke me up.

“When I went downstairs all I could see was the green light and people leaving their homes, it was all pretty scary at first I didn’t know what was going on.”
