ATHLETIC BILBAO star Inaki Williams proved he’s a man of all seasons by making it SIX YEARS without missing a single LaLiga game.
Williams, 27, produced a remarkable performance on Sunday when he started Bilbao’s 2-0 home defeat by Celta Vigo.
The versatile striker, once crowned by Spain, last missed a LaLiga game on April 17, 2016.
Since then, Williams has played in every single possible league game.
That makes an incredible total of 227 consecutive games – 189 of which he started.
The previous record belonged to Real Sociedad legend Juanan Larranaga, who made 202 consecutive league appearances between 1986 and 1992.
But Williams surpassed that total on October 1, 2021 when he was a starting XI in Bilbao’s 1-0 win over Alaves.
Williams, who joined the Basque side in 2012 at the age of 18, has made 265 La Liga appearances for his side, scoring 52 goals.
And with his contract running until 2028, Williams could add quite a bit to that incredible 227 consecutive league game tally.
Bilbao are currently eighth in the table, four points away from a European place.

And with seven La Liga goals this season, Williams is Bilbao’s top scorer.
The speedy striker has previously been linked with Liverpool.
And he claimed Manchester United tried to sign him before signing a NINE-YEAR deal with Bilbao in 2019.
Williams, who has a £120million release clause, said: “I’ve been in touch with Manchester United but I can’t tell you who it was.
“My first option has always been to stay at Athletic Club and retire here.
“Move to Real Sociedad? No, I could never go there. 100 percent.”
